PC Hardware Builds & Maintenance

With nearly 10 years of
experience in custom building and troubleshooting computers,
I have developed strong troubleshooting skills that enable
me to quickly diagnose and resolve various hardware issues.
Take my first build pictured twice on the left, top in 2019
and below is today next to my current daily driver. My first
GPU was a Radeon 5770, it was already ancient when I bought
it so I experienced a driver issue or two. When I was
younger I recall doing a few legitimate repairs but nothing
has broken on me recently. The vast majority of my hands-on
experience comes not from exchanging components among
different systems to optimize performance for specific use
cases, whether for a server, or a renderering PC. The moment
I had two computers to use I would always find a way to make
both
useful.
I have also performed RAM upgrades and SSD installations in
laptops. The Macbook I used to play Minecraft on when I was
10 took really well to this along with an install of Linux
Mint. Feels better than lower end Chromebooks for sure. I do
genuinely enjoy the challenge of min-maxing my setups when I
have limited equipment. Be it not enough Ethernet adapters,
network cards or just the hardware isn't powerful enough.
When configuring my two servers, I was practically
compulsively moving containers around to improve either the
resource management or functionality. If I know there is a
way to do so, I can't stop maximizing a machine's
performance.
My experience has provided me with a solid understanding of hardware configurations and their interdependencies. I’m always geeking out about industry hardware trends, which further strengthens my ability to tackle challenges efficiently and effectively even with hardware I haven't encountered. This diverse background allows me to create reliable systems tailored to meet specific needs, whether for personal projects or collaborative efforts.
